To quote 4noggins...
Lane 1-Q is basically a Golden Cavendish blend but with a hint of Fire-Cured blended in provides scintillating taste and flavorful aroma. America's best selling blend.
I've got about two ounces on the way, due to the fact that everyone here seems to love the stuff.

Never managed to find anyone in the UK who sells it. It could possibly be sold under another name but i don't know what that would be.
I ended up ordering some from the US. If you do then just make sure the total order is under 200g to escape the import duties...

Cheers Lawrence. Think the best way for me to get some here is just to ask if they have any Lanes 1Q under a different name. Most of my stuff id bought online as UK B&M's are very few and far between.
Will have to start looking soon though, only got a few bowls of my 1Q left :(

Hey Lawrence - I consider 1Q to be my go-to smoke three out of five bowls a week -- I respect your opinion, because of your fondness for 1Q - What do you think are the flavors, casings, toppings that comprise this wonderful blend? ( I would swear I detect a hint of liquorice in there) Your thoughts would be well received, Thanks- Jerry

I believe 1Q is natural and black cavendish. It tastes and smells to me like vanilla, almost like baking cookies. IRC's website describes it as, "Basically a Golden Cavendish blend with a hint of fire-cured blended in provides a scintillating taste and flavorful aroma"

there are most definitely cookie flavors (or smells) in it... but a little too sweet to smoke regularly for me. It is good though!

Lawrence got it right, most B&M's use it for their house blends. My wife went to Ohio for a wedding, I gave her a name of a tobacco shop and told her to get 2 oz of their best selling house blend, when she got back guess what it was... Lane 1-Q. It's good but I was looking for a in house blended tobacco. On my way home from work I smoke it, a nice mellow, good tasting blend.

Guys this string got me thinking about the time I bought my first high end pipe: Here's a copy paste from an old string.
1992; my first daughter was about 6 months old. The wife and I had gone to Brookwood Mall and she was shopping for stuff. I however, was there for one thing… my Ascorti. I had played the dutiful husband and I had been following the better half all over hell’s half acre, pushing Crystal in the “perambulator”, when I mentioned that I needed to have a smoke up at Skip’s on the second floor, and I had a purchase to make; some Yorkshire, and something else. I had been saving for almost a year for this pipe. I was so excited; I almost couldn’t contain myself.
Well; we strolled into the newly carpeted Pipe Shoppe, and the usual chit chat ensued. Crystal being the beautiful baby that she was attracted all the wives of the other patrons, and was soon being passed between all those “Baby Shopping Women”. It was about that time, that I asked Skip if I could see the third most beautiful thing in the shop, and he handed me “The Ascorti”. I proceeded to load it from one of the jars (1Q) and lit that sucker up. The look on Skip’s face was priceless. Then I handed him 4 brand new one hundred dollar bills. All the men had a good laugh, and it was a very sweet smoke………

Then Crystal, being true-to-form threw up on the new Hunter Green carpet.

The perfect punctuation to the perfect day.

1Q for some reason reminds me of bubblegum, therefore I sometimes blend it with strong flavored aros like PS Dark Currant or Burleys to cut the sweetness
