Lane 1Q and Blending Latakia -50/50 Mixture

I have grown to liking the Lane 1Q for a sweet smoke and retuning my taste bud. I am generally attracted to Latakia Balkan/English blends so since I just got in my shipment of the two I thought I would mixed them up 50/50. Not bad combo at all. Anyone else tried something like this?

Not with anything at such different ends of the spectrum. I like CB White 50/50 with Carter Hall, because CBW straight is too hot and wet for my tastes. The CH mellows it out nicely. I also like CH, OGS, and Lat, 70/20/10, or 60/20/20, depending on mood.

I have done the same with Trout Stream and blending Latakia. At a mixture of about 80/20 and it turned out really good.

The beauty of this is that you can proportion the blend to suit yourself. I think 50/50 might be pretty Lat heavy for me. I like my Lat coming up under the base tobacco as an inflection or accent. A stronger kick in some blends is also welcome. But it's all to taste. That's the beauty of mixing at home.

Actually that sounds like something from the Frog Morton line.

Not entirely the same of course (FM has a lot of good Virginia), but in concept it's not a terrible idea if you get the balance right.

Try some 1-Q with about 15-20% G&H Dark Plug Unscented flaked into the blend for some amazing flavor.

Yep maybe. I have to be careful not to get it too hot or theres a little tongue bite that's not there without the Latakia.
