Tin art is discussed often here on the forum and I think Kohlhase & Kopp has some of the best.

There's a tin from 2015 that once I saw it, I had to have it. I may of even posted about it in the past. I pretty much gave up on ever owning the tin until I went on PipeStud (Steve Fallon's) website. I clicked on the PipeStud link and boom, there it is...two tins. I immediately purchased a tin, not even caring about the tobacco...I almost purchased both tins.

@pipestud - Thank you Steve for the service you provide and well done on the quick shipping and packaging.

Here's the tin that I've been looking for. I'm going to smoke my first bowl of Kohlhase & Kopp 2015 Limited Edition Liberté, égalité, fraternité this afternoon.

I'm surprised when someone posts that the tin art doesn't matter to them.
I'd be one of those. As soon as a tin is opened the contents go into a jar and the tin is thrown away, much like a snack cake or a pack of cigarettes, the contents are all I'm interested in. A lot of those larger tins are decorative only and unsealed.

Even the Exotic Orange/Passion tin? You've posted pics of them. You don't keep just one for nuts, bolts, trinkets?

These tins don't have any seal to them, even a pouch is better. I can't remember if even the bag containing was airtight sealed when I got it, but I remember I could throw the tobacco away after a few weeks. So they are nice to look at, but don't have any long term storage function.

You're right, the tobacco in this 7 year old tin is dry. It's not crumbling into dust, but really dry. I smoked a bowl today and it's great. I put all of it in jars. I wanted the tin more than the tobacco...the tobacco is a bonus.

They're just folded cellophane with a label holding them closed.
Which is why I buy (or sterilize) quart size ball jars when I buy any of this style of tin. I opened a jar of the K&K 2015 Winter Blend in December and it was still slightly moist and supple.

Did you rehydrate it at all,the or smoke it as is?
I smoked it as is. It has to be the driest tobacco I've ever smoked...I liked it...a lot. If I'm not mistaken, I think @didimauw likes his tobacco really dry. There must be others that like there tobacco really dry.

Next time I want to smoke some Molto Dolce, I'll let it sit out for 7 years first. ;)

Yup I can not smoke tobacco that isn't dried out for an hour at least. Carter Hall takes days to weeks to get perfectly dry for my liking. I get better flavor this way.
