When my father was in the Navy he and a bunch of the guys from his boat helped build some houses for Habitat for Humanity. He said Janet Rudy from Rudy Farms had 500 of these knives made. He got one for me and one for my brother.

It will go into the safe until my son starts his family and I give it to him. I would carry it, but I'm too worried about losing it.

That's an awesome legacy, Grizz. You've got the Battleship AND the missile sub there, as well a pretty good football team. The son will treasure as much as you do!
Was your father on the sub or the battlewagon?

@cynyr He was on the sub.
@reichenbach I hadn't even thought of displaying it. Maybe I will make a shadow box for it.

The piece on the handle I would assume is stamped and the blades printed.

Yes, the battleship was retired soon after the war. No Habitat for Humanity back then. It's very nice they remembered the old girl, though. She was at Pearl Harbor, IIRC. Great keepsake!

@Cajunguy She was the first submarine capable of firing the Trident II ballistic missile to be commissioned.
