Kaywoodie Lot Restoration Pipe #2 (pics)

Dublin #2 of my lot. This one is larger than the first. SuperGrain, shape code 13. It took quite a lot of topping to get the burn marks out of the rim to a satisfactory level. Luckily, I had a near match for stain and didn't need to re-stain the whole bowl.

I've had it in smoke-able condition for a few weeks. It was quickly becoming one of my favorites, so this weekend I decided it was worth the effort to finish it off.

I'm realizing I need to take my pics in more consistent lighting to show differences better. :puffpipe:

Thanks guys. Pat, I will have a pretty good Kaywoodie rotation. I already do, in fact. I have fifteen or so. They are great pipes, stinger preference not withstanding. :lol: My coolest one is a pre-1936 saddlebit apple. These will be special b/c I fixed them up though.

Sam, I got the grime off without sanding. If you're not apposed to a little spittle, it does wonders on stuff like that. It was the deep burn marks in the wood underneath the grime that was the problem. I have a feeling the pipes in this lot were all the same owner. The burn patterns are similar!
