Karrots and pirate kake

Just sitting in my apartment in south holland, enjoying a big old bowl of pirate kake and a delicious raw winter carrot. For anybody who hasn’t tried combining a strong Latakia blend with a nice raw carrot, I highly recommend.

UPDATE: 2/3 of the way through the bowl now and onto carrot no. 2. I can confirm that it just keeps getting better folks. I can’t decide if the tobacco makes the carrot better or vice versa. Seems to be a symbiotic relationship.

Challenge accepted! I don’t know what all the surprise is about from the others. I think there is something rather colonially romantic about brandishing a piece of raw produce in one hand whilst smoking ones pipe in another.

Also, cosmic, this is a Dutch carrot. We calm them “winterpeen” in Dutch but you’re right, definitely odd given the season...
