Wow, the good days are surely over. That guy filing a complaint with the health department needs to be taken outside to be more of a man.
Wow, just wow. I don't know which part is worse: the guy filing a complaint with the department of health, or that idiot Kid Rock apologizing and blaming it on the booze. I think the asthma guy is hunting for money. Civilization is crumbling.
I'm sure the hordes of hate-mail and phone calls one Randy Snell of Warren, Michigan will receive from Kid Rock fans will probably give him cause to think twice before whining again. Or, at least give him cause to think twice before talking to the folk at Delaware Online; way to call him out!
I don't understand how these bans are legal when they're applied to private business.As I've said many times before the decision wheather or not smoking is allowed should belong to the owner of said business
I understand its a nonsmoking venue, but he put it out and appologised. Why bother filing a complaint?
Man, I never thought the I'd see the day some jackass in high heels would go to a flippin concert and then complain about smoke! Is this Bizarro Wurld?
To offer another perspective:
My oldest daughter is allergic to tobacco smoke (among other things). Being around it for extended periods of time literally makes her ill. I remember very well taking the kids to an indoor concert before there were any bans, and she became ill from the smoke.
Should people who have health problems like this be forced to stay home from concerts? That seems to be the logical consequence of your statement.
Places that serve alcohol are licensed by the state. Places that serve food have to pass inspections from the county health department (at least, that's who does it in Michigan).
I think the guy is a jackass for complaining to the health department. If the steps were:
1 Rock lit a cigar
2 Somebody complained to management
3 They asked Rock to put it out, and he did
that should be the end of the issue.
Well, at the risk of sparking a flame war, large venue events should be smoke free, if for no other reason than the fire hazard. I do agree that business owners should be allowed to decide whether their establishments allow smoking, and those should be clearly marked. After all, they didn't stop making peanuts available because people have peanut allergies, did they? I missed the part of the constitution that said people have a right to go wherever they want, whenever they want. IMHO.
I guess I'm used to all sorts of stuff hanging in the airat shows, tobacco and otherwise and just accepted it as part of the experience. I've never been to a non-smoking concert. Of course the shows I go to you stand a 50% chance of being barfed on by somebody. Just part of the fun!
Lots of people do things that piss me off . But then Iam man enough not to kill them on site . It all started with bicycle helments and not killing off the weak ones early due to unsafe play ground equipment . When we start accommodating everyones pet peeves and dislikes or allergies we end up priosners of our own demise . And that will just suck , wait and see . :crazy:
