Just placed my very first online order at smokingpipes.com.
Ordered myself one tin each of Dunhill Nightcap, and Orlik's Golden Sliced.

Also two ounces of Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake, and a Czech Pipe Tool because I lost the one that was given to me.
I can't wait to crack them both open. :puffy:
This has me curious though. What was in your guys' first online tobacco order?

Smoking Pipes seems to have all around better prices, but the shipping seems a little higher than Pipes and Cigars.
Also, I noticed Pipes and Cigars was a bit cheaper on the Luxury Navy Flake when it came to buying more than 1 or 2 ounces.

Yeesh, online ordering for me began in 2005, and I don't have a clue. But it was 4 tins from SmokingPipes.com. Since then. . . well, let's just say I started adding up all of my purchases from them since that time, and I gave up when I got halfway through the list and hit $3,000.

You must have a really nice cellar.
I probably have more tobacco than I will be able to smoke in my lifetime, unless I'm able at some point to seriously step up my number of pipes-per-day (which is currently at around 3-4). But after my latest smokingpipes.com order arrives tomorrow, I will have a few more than 850 tins cellared. Most are 2oz/50g, but there are a number of 100g and 8oz/1lb tins/bags in there as well. I once tried to figure up how much actual tobacco I have -- in weight -- and got a headache.
That said, you may be shocked at how much stockpiling is going on around here! I'm only buying for about the next 30 years or so (since I'm 51). And I'm cellaring so much not because of possible price increases but because of the possible loss of blends I love due to corporate changes, crop failures, etc. Many folks here also think that it's good for tinned tobacco to have at least three years of age on it before smoking it; the time in the tin gives the blend even more time to come together and mature (even though a number of blends these days are only released after they've been aged six months or so).

My first order was:
Frog Morton, FMOB, Haddo's Delight, Cairo, EMP, 965, and Savinelli Cavendish.
I still order, smoke, and lay down lots of Haddo's and Cairo. But have moved away from the English blends in favor of VaPers. Still like a nice EMP or 965 from time to time.
Sav Cavendish remains one of the few Aros I like when the situation calls for an Aro. Usually around Thanksgiving and Christmas time with relatives over.

Congrats on your order and welcome to the site. That OGS and LNF is good stuff. I find the OGS to be a little to mild for an everyday smoke for me, but it's really consistent bowl to bowl and has a real clarity to it. I'm still planning on cellaring some for a taste now and then.
I hope you enjoy it.
Oh my first order...I won't mention names since it's not their fault but I discovered what style of tobaccos I liked LEAST.

Congrats on your first order. I began ordering tobacco on line in 2000 so I have no idea what I ordered. I am like Bob where I am loading up so I never run out of my favorites.

Thank you for all of the responses! I appreciate the welcomes and kind wishes. :)
Is there anything special I need to know about the tobaccos I ordered? Or should I just pack them and smoke them regularly?

Evan,
I haven't tried the Orlik, but the name makes me think it's a flake. If that's the case, you'll need to either rub it out before packing your pipe, cut it up as some here do, or fold it and pack. How you approach it is up to, and different methods will yield different experiences. If you don't rub a flake out much, it will burn slower, but it may require multiple relights.
As for the Nightcap. . . If you're new to smoking in general, you may want to start with a half-bowl or so. Nightcap contains a bit of perique, which is high in nicotine. So a full bowl may give you more of a nic hit than you like. It would probably be good, at the very beginning, to not try this on an empty stomach, but that may be overly cautious.
Enjoy!
