So I ordered three estate pipes from Ebay. Just got the first one. It says Trident, styled in Italy, walnut and has the number 910 stamped on it. It is a very cool pipe but seems to have a lot of "cake" in it. The tobacco shop said they have someone who can ream and polish pipes. Should I do that or should I order a ream-er from Ebay and try to do it myself? What do you think of my new pipe?

Pictures would be great if you have them. if you have no idea what youre doing i think i would let someone else do it and see if they'll let you watch them so you can learn to do it on your own, just my 2 cents

TW, I would definitely let you tobacco shop do it for you. Reaming a pipe properly takes experience, you could easily over ream it and ruin it. It is hard to know if your pipe is a good deal without pictures. If you a photo bucket account or something similar, you can post pictures on the thread. If you are going to start buying a lot of estate pipes a Senior reamer is a good one to get. You could get one and then bring it to your local guy and have him show you how to do it.

Purchase a reamer, watch some youtube vids on how to do it, and have fun. Just be careful to not over-ream it, I never ream to the bare wood.
