Tonight my fiancé and I were at a friends house and they had a kerosene heater on and our daughter fell on it and I had to literally peel her arm/hand off of it. Then after getting to the hospital I had to hold her down so they could wrap it. I was in tears. I truly felt my heart break and she was so helpless.

It is tough but she is young, she will heal , sounds cruel but that is life, your love will help her through this difficult period, you cannot watch them all the time, don"t beat yourself up, you and your family are always on my thoughts, your friend the old cajun

I am so sorry to hear that. The pain of a child tends to hurt us more than our own pain. I'm praying for you both as well as your fiancé and your friends. A traumatic time indeed.

I.....I don't know what to say. Good thing you kept yourself together and helped her through. Years from now she will remember you were there for her.

Sorry to hear that Irish. I will be praying for a speedy recovery for her. I know it really sucks when one of your children get hurt and you just want to endure their pain so they don't have to suffer.

That is so terrible Irish. I hope for a speedy recovery for your little girl. You're both in my thoughts and prayers. I know what its like first hand when you have to hold your little one down to help the physician to help them. It does suck but I think that its better for the child to have daddy hold him/her during this ordeal.

Well glad she's ok... But be prepared brother... This is just the beginning.

Mine are 13 and 15.... Countless stitches, broken fingers or noses, black eyes later and they're still going strong. Kids are very resilient
When my daughter (the 15 year old) was just a baby, I remember freaking the hell out the first time she had to have stitches.... After a couple more spills it wasn't such a big deal anymore. My son followed suit and was much worse... But by the ime he came around it was more like... "are you going to die?... No well then get up"
Anyways its all part of growing up brother... Stay strong

Argh! The thought of that make me cringe. Just keep those bandages fresh and be liberal with the silver sulfadiazine cream and she'll come out OK.

In '82 my little baby daughter grabbed hold of my hot coffee... she blistered and broke our hearts! She

healed and we got over it but it was a hard time... I feel for Ya!

I know you would have swapped places with her if you could. Hope she recovers with as little pain as possible.
