I have been eyeing one of these beauties for a little while now, and decided to go ahead and make my purchase:

Bought my first cobb when I was about 19 years old, not even sure who the maker was, didn't really know much about smoking a pipe or the pipe tobaccos, but I knew it was interesting and I wanted to try it out. Bought a pouch of Captain Black Gold, a cobb off the nearby sign, and they threw in the matches and a few cleaners and off I went to hack and cough my way through my first pipe....ah the memories. So here I am buying a much more expensive version and can't wait to get it in so I can have a puff from such an exquisite cobb!

Check the tendon before you fire it up, they had some quality issues with those.

@upnorth1 Yeah, I was just scrolling through their line last night and it really caught my eye. I usually end up sleeping on making a purchase, just to make sure I don't buy everything I see and end up regretting it later, but, I just bought it this morning after looking it over again.
@Embers Check the tendon? By how do you mean? What should I be checking for? I typically give every new pipe a once over, cleaning it and what not, just making sure it's free from any lingering debris, dust, or just anything I don't want clogging up my smoke and checking it for any obvious defects.

I'm pretty happy with the one I bought a couple months ago.

The pretty red stem makes it a little heavier than the Country Gentleman.
MM has been hitting out of the park lately with new versions of cob pipes. I wonder what they'll come up with next.

Well I was looking pretty hard at the CG too, so who knows, I might just pick one of those up later as well. I may just keep watching out for new designs as well, especially if I like it. Good to know you like yours. I'll definitely be shouting out how I feel about mine once it gets here and I take it for a little back porch puffin!

I really like my Charles Towne Cobbler and Carolina Gent. I agree that MM has been killing it with these recent pipes, I hope they keep making interesting ones like these so I have more excuses to buy more cobs! :puffy:

Wow, so they had some tenons pop out that way, huh? The mortise is made of wood, right? I can see how that would chew it up a bit. Here's to fingers crossed that I don't have a screwed up tenon on my stem then. Did you have any issues with yours Embers?

Yeah, that's a shot of the one I got. It was a first issue run though, so all should be well. Still, better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the heads up, embers, I'll be checking it over real good before I smoke it to make sure everything looks good. Just saw it was shipped today, so hopefully it'll be here before the weekend. I would love to be able to smoke it after building my new dining room table this weekend.
