You are obviously getting some good briar to work with. Flame grain on the sides and solid birds eye on the rim, a joy to view. Thanks for continuing to post your work!
Briar it's italian and came from Calabria or Liguria two region where i usually buy it.I drill myself the ebauchons ad modify lucite stems usually on the italian market.In some case stem also it's hand-cut by me when dimension or shape needs that

That's an amazing grain and definitely love the birds-eye! I'm not much of a fan of panel pipes, but like Cyndi said, I don't think you could've captured it as well any other way.
Italian briar is real nice.Rarely i found fills in it and the pipes i carve have none.Thank you again for the appreciation of my works.Usually i don't like round bowls.As i'm a pipe smoker i can find them easily on the market and it's a good occasion to buy.I try to make what on the market usually i don't see but my eyes and my mind loves
