Here's my most recent purchase off e-bay. Jost will be my next installment on the Classic Pipe Shop blog. I typically only buy pipes made in the old American Pipe shops that were made pipes in-house.
Comoy made lots of pipes for American shops back in the 30s and 40s. I'd guess this was from the 40s or 50s. I have a catalog that lists Jost pipes that were made in-house for $10 each - probably from the 60s. Deluxe Jost pipes (made by Comoy) were listed as $85 each! I'm sure they didn't sell many of them and this shape is one of my favorites along with the Comoy 499.
