And here I thought your pipes would look like they get smoked all the time, Jim. Don't see why you needed another rack, plenty of open slots. But whatever trips your trigger, man. If it makes you happy, then I'm happy for you.nnnn

Jim, I was wrong. You don't need a "pipe boy" to clean your pipes. You can just move on to another when they get too funky.
What do you do, take two or three days at the end of the year to give them all a good cleaning?
It varies. I need to clean the stems on a lot of them. The insides get cleaned after every smoke. I don't smoke a pipe unless the insides are clean.

I have lots of pipes in racks too...mine are probably more generic, but most have been smoked and their stems typically acquire residue. I've taken to dampening a paper towel and dipping it in baking soda and scrubbing that gunk off at the edge of my kitchen sink....rinse and go....or toothpaste works...not the same as high polish, but effective enough to make a smoke just a little more appreciated.
I also keep plenty of pipe cleaners around, along with tissues and Q-tips...
