Jatoba Pipe?

Anyone ever make a pipe out of Jabota, any reason why I should not?

When I google that word, all I get it "female tortoise." I don't think a bone pipe would be very pleasant, but what do I know.

Jatoba is Brazilian Cherry. Should be very similar to using domestic cherry in a pipe, maybe a little harder...

Brazilian Cherry is a fine hardwood... whereas Alabama Cherry is soft and inbred
