Jarring Mac Baren Flake

When I bought a pound of pure virginia I cut the flakes in half when jarring. I just got a pound of burley flake and I'm gonna jar the whole flakes. I know it doesn't matter but was wondering what you experienced guys like to do with the 1 pound boxes of mac baren flakes

Whatever you got to do to make it fit in the jar, that's my approach

I leave then full flakes and split them up so I have around 5-6 separate jars per lb box. I use 250ml size

I cut them in half and get one pound into two wide mouth pint jars.

I get them to fit full length in 2 wide mouth pint jars.

I cut them in half. Not going to get a full flake into a flake pipe anyway. And it makes them easier to jar. I put mine into jars that will hold about 4 oz each so I can enjoy that amount in the future when I open it up.

I ended up cutting them. Definitely easier and I like using the small jars anyways

I generally smoke flake tobacco in a pipe with a smaller inner bowl diameter, .75 to .80. Most are .75.

I make them as long as there is height in the jar -- usually about 2/3 their length. The remaining third is either packed in a smaller jar, or used to fill in around the long pieces.
