Our Featured Interview on The Pipes Magazine Radio Show tonight is with Japanese Pipe Artisan Smio Satou. Satou makes high-grade pipes that are works of art, and wonders in engineering at the same time. He was trained in both the Danish and Japanese styles of pipe making, and combines both skill-sets in his masterpiece pipes. In the "Pipe Parts" segment, Brian will talk about the fascination or fad of the reverse calabash pipe.

This was a fun interview, thanks to Brian, Satou-San and Ryota for working so hard to bring it to us. I particularly appreciated hearing the story of the lacquer and its affect on the final finish and benefits to the longevity of the pipe. It was also cool to learn that much of the Tsuishu that Satou-San uses was made by his father.
