NO photo yet, but I picked up a well used plateau briar freehand at an auction signed Jandrew 84. All I know is that it was made by J. Andrew Kovacs, and that he had a big role in the influencing other carvers in Arizona, but haven't been able to find out much more than that. Anyone have any more information?

Sounds like something of a find. Bent-straight, shape, finish, materials??? Well-used, needing repairs?

It's a bent freehand. Nice flame grain briar, with a few scratches. vulcanite stem that I think might be a replacement. Otherwise in good shape. I reamed it, freshened it, got the gunk off that had built up around the bowl and polished the. Seems like an excellent pipe, smokes very well. I just was hoping too learn a bit more about the maker. It's one of the only custom briars I own.
