When I travel, fly, I typically load up my 4 pipe Peterson pipe bag and that goes in my messenger bag underneath the seat in front of me. The tamper goes in the checked luggage. I don't ever take a lighter with me. Typically stop by a grocery store or gas station and get some matches. I also pack the pipe cleaners in the checked luggage as well as a tin or two. Those are always two tins that I've just opened the day before I left or it's a blend I have in bulk and just refill a tin of for carrying purpose. It's actually a lot easier to travel with your pipes than you'd think.
