Whole turkeys are dirt cheap and overflow the supermarket freezers in the US this time of the year, Thanksgiving through Christmas. This year, I saw USD1.50/lb. Are they shipping the birds to OZ?Had roast turkey for lunch with the family on Saturday

How do they feel about eating it? And do they ever think that they might be next?Except for the turkey, we fed most of that to the yard chickens.

Soylent Green is turkey!I told my wife it was like feeding apes to people. She has grown jaded in the situation.
I've seen her throwing chicken and rice out there.
The chickens don't give a damn. If you laid on the ground for a few minutes and didn't move, they'd eat you too.
We are well supplied with local turkeys (freshly dressed and frozen) during the lead up to Xmas.Whole turkeys are dirt cheap and overflow the supermarket freezers in the US this time of the year, Thanksgiving through Christmas. This year, I saw USD1.50/lb. Are they shipping the birds to OZ?

Frozen turkey is readily available throughout the year. Turkey is very popular with caterers - relatively cheap and a turkey buff (breast) will feed a multitude.
Unfortunately prices here (along with most everything) are quite a bit more than you will find in the States.
As I keep repeating, Oz is a great place to live. As long as you aren't poor.
But then I suspect, nowhere in the world is.
So did my father. It was his own tooth.Do we though?

I'm a firm believer in the capacity of money to buy happiness!
Looks like I'll need to set aside some time this week to get a new clause written into my life insurance policy. The chickens don't give a damn. If you laid on the ground for a few minutes and didn't move, they'd eat you too.
