The Caminetto freehand that I bought for $45 today was such a sweet pipe, I decided to go back to the same antique shop, and try my luck on another pipe. I was able to pick up a nice bulldog for $35. It has no markings that I can find, but appears to be high quality. Any ideas on the maker?

Based on my first smoke, this is the best smoker in my meager collection. I don't think the bowl got any warmer than body temperature, and I smoked it dry. Very pleased. Would love to know who the craftsman was.

Nice looker, I'd say by the stem it is probably not a base pipe, look like you got a good deal. I'm leaning towards GBD at least the stem sort of reminds me of a tapestry model pipe, not exactly the same, but similar style and fit. Perhaps something along those lines that was owner modified once upon a time.

I'm with shaintiques, the bowl shape (looks like a GBD 9438) and stem (GBD called theirs a "chair-leg") all remind me of a GBD. A good find and one of my favorite shapes. For comparison, here's a GBD 9438 Tapestry.
