With humidity finally fading away in Vermont, it's drying time again. Does anyone else sing that to the tune of Buck Owens' "Cryin' Time"? Can't make the rest of the lyrics work, though.
I'm an open-air tobacco dryer. A/C is okay but loud. I don't have a microwave and definitely don't trust myself with the oven technique, so I've been waiting on this wet tobacco for a little while. Currently drying off some Wessex Gold Brick, MacB Pure VA, Eso Dorchester, HU Janneman, F&T Cut VA Plug, SG Golden Glow, and Holker, Clegir, Oxenfisl, Ambleside and Kentmere from G&H/Synjeco.
Smells great in here.

Never really thought about drying a bunch out all together. Generally, when the humidity in NJ allows for it, I just take out and dry what i plan on smoking for the day. But I bet as you said that it smells nice!

I'm drying tobacco all the time. I tried the oven once and all but ruined about half a tins' worth of Capstan Blue.
That's exactly what I'm afraid of!

Drop a couple of these into a small jar with the tobacco.
Excellent idea. I've just gone ahead and ordered a 50-pack. Think I'll set up an on-deck dry-jar with a couple of these inside, so if I'm slicing off a few coins or flakes, I can let them desiccate the night before use.
