Is this a genuine SMS Meerschaum and if so, why so cheap?

looks legit to me and my two lattice meers were new old stock at a B&M at $139 and $149... circa 2000 prices.. i'm happy with them. I do not see anything comparable (new) at those prices.

Oh really? I always thought they were on the pricier end. I can't seem to find them for sale anywhere online, only select retailers.
