Is there something special about this GBD 9461 sterling mount

I was watching this pipe, it needs a little work and the seller is not a pipe person so you never know what you are going to get with a pipe like this. I was thinking it was a $30-50 pipe in the condition it was in.....went for $150. Is there something special about it?

here's a beauty for 20$. With the amount of great pipes you can get for these prices I won't ever spend more than 30$ on a pipe personally. The only pipe I bought brand new was a Peterson special edition for 60$ that goes for over 200$ at the moment. Bjarne's were discontinued in 2008 also.

The hallmark to me looks like 1957, and the silverwork looks to be in excellent condition, not worn, just some easily removed tarnish. Stem is not chewed up, bowl is not out of round nor badly dinged up. Overall a nice example, hence the price.

dmcmtk, agreed, overall a nice pipe that just needs clean up, at least you hope there is nothing wrong. Just did not know it was worth that much.
