Have a rustic Mastercraft with huge bowl and metal filter, got it with some estate pipes a bit ago.Anyway, cant smoke it with metal filter so i threw it away but draw is way too open, today i hand drilled tennon an stem and now it accepts a brigham filter if i remove the metal end, anyway gonna try it out later an see how it does

I have a lone Mastercraft that could use a tweak. What size drillbit did you use?
just looked and the numbers r wore off it, but i just used same size as wooden end of brigham filter (4mm maybe),anyway i had to use a boring bit because the stem was extremely hard. Put visegrips on the end of the bit and turned it by hand so i could keep the "delicate touch". took me about an hour and a half. I am actually surprised and pleased on how well it smokes,
