Perhaps I was trying to impress the pretty Lady in the car next to me. Perhaps my mind was on several things at once. Starting a company can be trying at times, especially when you have friends who are volunteering.
Well, I had learned valuable lesson last week. -NEVER-EVER-DRIVE-YOUR-CAR-WITH-A-CHURCHWARDEN-IN-YOUR-MOUTH-YOU-WILL-LOSE-TEETH!
If someone had filmed me, it would have wound up on Youtube and received 20 thousand views, at least! However, I am fortunate for that, and for the fact that I was lucky I didn't wind up swallowing the whole stem or lose any teeth, as I slammed on my breaks behind this idiot who was tailgating the person in front of him. I now bring my new pipe, a Peterson, Bulldog, dated "July 4th 1999," and use my Churchwarden for an evening smoke on my balcony at home.

My advice:
If you're clenching and going to crash, please spit your pipe out! I've never been hit with an air bag but if it can break your nose then I'm sure it can force feed you your pipe!
This is only a guess though, any one crash with pipe clenched?

Oooo, yes. Churchwardens and cars do not mix, lol. A nice Oom Paul is less likely to become entangled in the wheel, or shoved up your nose in a wreck.

Many years ago, before the advent of the airbag I had to panic stop and was clenching a pipe with an ebonite stem. Fortunatly it's more brittle than vulcanite. I snapped the bit off and the jagged stem cut my lip a bit. Considered myself lucky and gave up clenching altogether. I shudder to think what would happen with the high velocity air bag already trying to slap you silly plus having a pipe in your mouth. :crying:

That could be fatal, I never thought of that as a possibility as the one time I had a cigar in my mouth when someone ran the red light and hit me, I dropped it before the impact ever took place out of sheer shock. While it got no where near my mouth, being force fed that would suck too 8O
