Interesting Castellos popping up

I've been noticing some oddball shapes popping up from Castello here and there. It makes me wonder if they've got a new carver on staff that they're allowing to carve outside the lines a bit more than they normally would.

Maybe some experienced Castello owners will provide a comparative evaluation if and when they buy one of the new designs.

The square shank on round bowled pipes seems to be a trend. A recent Ser Jacopo blast Dublin I bought

has that. The bowl on this one has an interesting use of smooth and blast or rusticated textures, an

interesting look. It's good to see designs move forward without getting too avant guard.

Not too familiar with Castello designs but that is a nice pipe. Thanks for the heads up I'm going to check more out and perhaps snag one for myself.
