I hope this is the correct place post this request for information about these pipes. I have three pipes (that belonged to my father). My problem is that I don't know much about pipes and would like to acquire the most accurate information possible. I was hoping that I could post a picture (below) and give you whatever info I have on the pipes and some of you might be able to help me out.
*The pipes have all been used.
*All pipes say "Made in Turkey" on the cases.
1) Ram's Head Pipe
-Weighs about 2 oz. (with stem)
-Height = 3 inches (from bottom of neck to top of horns)
-Width = 2 inches
-Length = 6.25 inches (with stem), 3 inches (without)
-I think the stem isn't original as the pipe doesn't fit into the case with it (should be curved?)
2) Dog with Bird Pipe (Large one)
-Weighs about 3.5 oz. (with stem)
-Height = 3.25 inches (from bottom of neck to tip of nose)
-Width = a bit more than 2 inches
-Length = 7.25 inches
-The name(?) "Yunus" is carved into the part of the pipe that attaches to the stem
-There is a sticker inside the case that has a SMS logo and says "Handcarved Block Meerschaum -
Turkey" around the logo
3)Dog with Bird Pipe (Small one)
-Weighs 1.6 oz. (with stem)
-Height = 2.5 inches (from the bottom of the neck to the tip of the nose)
-Width = 1.75 inches
-Length = 5.5 inches (with stem), 2.25 inches (without)
-There appears to be a small star carved on the bottom of the bowl (a small circle with 5 triangles
surrounding it)
-Inside the case is a sticker that says "Genuine Sunalp Block Meerschaum"
If there is any other information you need (or additional pictures), please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
