Hello all,
As the title states, I'm from Southern IN (in the sticks).
I'm a beer drinker and cigar smoker on the lake or off-roading. A wine drinker when hanging with the boss (wife LOL) and a bourbon or whiskey drinker enjoying my pipe while sitting around a fire or taking in the outdoors.

I've been lurking for a while trying to learn as much as possible and have now finally joined the fun. I'm a long time cigar smoker but just recently purchased my first pipe (Morgan Bones). I absolutely love the smooth flavor of a pipe vs a cigar. I have smoke $1 - $40 cigars and to be honest I'm just not refined enough to like the "good stuff". I enjoy the cheap sweet flavored cigars and so far it seems I like the sweeter pipe tobacco (Cult- Blood Red Moon, Cornell Diehl - Autum Evening). My wife says there is no hope for me because I also enjoy cheaper sweet wine LOL. I plan to try my hand at refurbing a few estate pipes (I made a post regarding my first 3 pipe victims - 3 Christmas Comoy's) .

I'm looking forward to learning from the knowledge on this site.

Northern Germany
Happy smokes from Northern Germany and welcome to this fine forum. puffy

I also prefer the cheap stuff, also preferring beer (or wine). Used to buy boxes of 50 Sumatra or Brazil cigars for under 20€. They were great on their own, nice and strong. I loved to slightly soak them in cheap but good whiskey or especially rum.
With the right procedure you could get a really great smoke out of it.
But the pipe will always give you the best tobacco tasting experience. Once you figured out how to properly handle a pipe and its tobac you'll experience pleasures that are far out. And it's not rocket science either.

Welcome aboard from central North Carolina. I too am a son of the flatlands, having grown up in the Chicago area. I like Indiana for its 360 degree horizon, when you get out in the open rural areas. I went to Indianapolis one time on business, and did an off-hours trip to the Speedway, which is amazingly huge. The museum there had various of the race cars over time, with all the workings custom made so they fit under the aerodynamic shell like the internal organs of a snake. Also took the van ride around the oval.

Welcome from Central Texas. While doing postdoctoral work at IU in the early 80s, I fell in love with Southern Indiana. Beautiful in the Fall.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons in Southern IN. Unfortunately, it seems to only last a few weeks LOL. I've only driven through Texas but have always wanted to spend some time there. It seems like my kind of state.
