I have been stuck in a hospital bed since Sunday night due to a blocked bile duct. Fortunately, this morning the doctor was able to scope in and remove the stone, and I am beginning to feel better. Better yet the jaundice is subsiding. Hopefully I can return home tomorrow.
It does look like I have two weeks left before they take my gallbladder. Any idea as to how this will change my diet?

Everyone is different. I have a friend who has occasional difficulty with fatty meals. I luckily had no dietary problems after my removal. The only problem I had was for about a month, I would get the most incredible urge to have a movement. It would come out of nowhere and I had to find a place to stop. It progressively got better and finally went away. Good luck with the removal. Your midsection will be sore for a few days.

And make sure you REST...don't think you can do something just cause you want to...REST is the best think you can do after surgery. JMHO.
Good luck with your surgery.

Indeed, rest, rest, rest. Don't go about topping it the nimble fellow only a few days after surgery, even if you feel like you can.
Also, every body is and heals differently. When I came out of hernia surgery, last December, some of the other people who were operated on the same day were walking about rather sprightly three days after surgery (on the day we were discharged), whilst I could barely walk. As a matter of fact, I was in pain for many, many days. Heck, yesterday and to-day I've had that ex-hernia causing me pain. So, take it easy and personal.

I’ve had mine out for 12 years and I can eat anything that doesn’t eat me. I had absolutely no problems.

Take it slow. You may feel low at first, then you can hit this euphoria where you want to go out on the town. Don't do it. Wait, or at least wait for your doc to prompt you, I think. I await good reports!

Well I'm have made it home. I feel much better today; however, I did over do it a bit this afternoon and have worn myself out. I wish I had read MSO advice first :)
I have been given the rest of the week off from work which will give me a few days to build up a bit of stamina that I seem to have misplaced.
Thank you all for the well wishes.
