Back when I was in college in the mid 70's, I was a cigarette smoker, and ocassionally my buddies and I would splurge and split the cost of a pack of imported Turkish cigarettes at our local tobacco shop. (In those days, cigarettes cost about 35 cents per pack, but the Turkish imports ran between $2 to $4 per pack, which was a lot on a college student's allowance in those days.)
The Turkish imports were a world of difference from American cigarettes. When you'd inhale one of those, the heavy density of the smoke felt almost more like a hot liquid rolling into your lungs.
I was describing them to my sister last night, and I thought it would be fun to buy some good imported Turkish smokes, but my online searches are coming up empty. Does anyone know of any shops that might still sell them??
