I've been seeing a lot of discussion about the Feds seizing tobacco products in the mail. Does this mean it's illegal for me to ship baccy samples to other US members through the mail? Or does this just pertain to shipping it across the border to Canada or Mexico?

I just looked this up it IS NOT ILLEGAL aslong as proper taxes have been paid.

If it comes off a Native American reservation it would be illegal as they are tax exempt.

I believe it is illegal to mail tobacco to Washington State.

The Attorney General’s Office requests legislation prohibiting the shipment of certain tobacco products purchased through the Internet or by mail order to anyone other than licensed wholesalers or retailers, correcting a loophole in Washington’s laws regarding age verification, taxation, public health goals and certification.

If I understand the WA St. laws , they are directed at internet and mail order sales. If I purchase tocbacco from you, you can't ship it to me. This is supposedly to protect minors.
I haven't seen anything in the laws to prevent sending a gift to someone in this state.
I could be wrong.

I am in Nova Scotia Canada, I have sent some samples etc to people since the new shipping laws. My Post Office actually told me NOT to send tobacco as a Gift as it is a red flag to Customs.
