$1400 could buy every pipe I have (including the 3- and 4-pin estates if they were new), plus all the tobacco I have ever bought. But you're right, those are nice looking pipes. I'd just have to be pretty rich not to feel the pinch.
The sanding F up on the bevel? I've never really gotten her work. That dragonfly is IMO pretty cheesy, an inlay would have been a much nicer coverup(?). 8O
If you REALLY want to go overboard, check this one out. It's been offered several times in the past year or two. At least it has free shipping.

I don't really think of a pipe as perfect or not, I think of weather or not I am drawn to it and find it attractive. that pipe makes me weak I tell you. She has a great sense of style and a very good eye.
I just don't get the thinking process behind spending that much money on a pipe with no idea on how it smokes, other than the sellers note. Where would you go for smoker reviews of her pipes? You could ask on every pipe forum on the net and be lucky if you found one person who owns (and smokes) one. Very nice looking pipes, beautiful, but thats a lot of money to gamble without knowing any odds.
