Being the only grandchild to enjoy an occasional pipe with grandad, naturally, I was the one who inherited his collection of pipes and accessories. Most have been identified, but I am struggling to find specifics.
The known:
The pipe appears to be unsmoked and in excellent condition.
This is a Mastro de Paja pipe, FATTA A MANO model.
It has one sun stamped to the right side, and "3A" stamped on the stummel near the band. Which I've come to understand that it is a smooth good grain with brown-orange stain.
The band is made of sterling silver as is evident from the "925" stamped on the bottom side of the band.
The unknown:
There is an unknown stamped mark next to the "3A" marking.
The word "Pesaro" is stamped above and to the left of the sun stamp. But I can't seem to find what this indicates.
Even though the band is silver, there is no "N", "L", or "S" marking on the body of the pipe indicating that the pipe SHOULD have any kind silver on it.
The band is elegantly rounded and not blocky like all other types of silver adornment I've seen on this brand.
The base of the stem could also have a silver dot on the top side, but unable to determine this as of yet other than it matches the color of the band and has the same luster.
I have not been able to find any other pipes of this brand in this exact style.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
