Here is the meerschaum I grabbed in the 3 dollar rack it might be peterson or pioneer. It needs some good cleaning but not to sure what to do and if I use the same methods as briar. Here are the pics

The nice part is the pipe cost me about .75 since I picked up 4 items for 3 bucks.

The pipe is a Pioneer. It was made in the same Isle of Man factory as Peterson and Barling meers from either African block or meer dust and glue. Cleaning of the stem can be done as you would a briar. As for the bowl, I used sand paper in the bowl and many dry bristle pipe cleaners in the smoke hole. I didn't use alcohol for fear that, if the bowl was a composite, it might desolve the binder.

It says it is block meerschaum so I am sure alcohol would be fine. It has some sort of stain or paint on the outside trying to figure out what to do with that.
