i just started pipe smoking a little over a year ago and so far i only smoke capt black, half and half and prince albert

one time when i ran out of those, before i got a new order shipped, i went down to a pipe shop close by and it turned out to be more of a ' for other than tobacco ' type of establishment - they only had a very small variety of tobacco and the regular stuff that i use was way over priced -
i saw a little table that had a few jars with different tobaccos and i think it was about $ 3.50 an ounce - so i looked through it and smelled it - there were names like wolf and hound and other names that i never heard of - so i got an ounce of 3 different kinds and tried them -
i did not like any of them - ( else i probably would have tried to keep up with the names )

one was almost ok but the other two i just did not like them .

i smoked them until i got my shipment and didn't touch them any more until just now .
i was about half done puffing a bowl of half and half when i decided to put a small pinch of one of the ones that i did not like in there .
not bad - it makes the half and half taste a little different .
so is that like going a tad crazy - or does anyone else ever just mix in a pinch of something else at mid bowl ?

i see a lot of topics about mixing

what about using the stash that you don't like by putting pinches in while you puff the stuff you do like ?

Nice. I just got a good healthy shipment from P&C: Meridian, 1Q and some other aros. On top of that, I finally found some Penzance online. Hopefully, I'll be receiving that in a few days so I can see what all the fuss is about. :lol:

Ed: people here mix all the time. I mix my MV-1000 with some Kendal's Kentucky to boost the nicotine a bit.
Nsfisher is a pro at layering tobacco's in his pipe.

That's one thing I'm glad about. I've pretty much found my regulars in the 7 Seas line from Mac Baren. Now I'm not so inticed to try a million blends. Focus has now shifted to PAD for me.

I have TAD fever every day. I am just getting reintroduced to pipes and there is so much more selection I was not aware of when had smoked before.
First I had PAD and now have like 20-30 Pipes many are estates that need some TLC. The wife said slow down. So, now she is getting grrr about my TAD. I wish there was a mega super sampler that I could get so I could find my regular go to blend. I love the sweet blends like Boswell Blue Berry Cobbler, Altadis Creme Brulee, ETC.
