Broken in!

Just reflecting today about how much easier it is to keep a bowl lit and how the ember burns to the edge, leaving a nice layer of ash. I'm sure having a bit more experience helps too, but I notice the same issues with my new Bulldog as I was having with the Billiard when I first got it so I'm going to chalk some this up to the Billiard having been broken in.

And you know, I wasn't entirely sold on the Billiard as a shape when I picked this pipe up but it's grown on me quite a bit. Looking forward to enjoying this pipe for awhile!

Definitely more to do with your technique, direction of the wind, and levelly holding the pipe. Once pipe is broken in, it will smoke more consistently, might not heat up too much, and will smoke better in general.
