I decided to open some things that have been on my shelf - only things that I have never tried and have 2 or more of. Nothing rare but for the most part I feel like these are not “genre overlap” for the myriad jars in my collection. I thought I’d share my thoughts on a few going off of aroma alone. These are them:

The front row is the most intriguing to me, with the best on the left.

Celephais- I’ve never sniffed any blend like this. I do not get it on every whiff but most of the time there is a grape soda note. There are other familiar scents here that I can’t quite pinpoint…butter pecan perhaps.

8 ST8 Burley- This, upon popping, was the most complex burley I’ve ever smelled. Re-sniffing a few hours later it reads more codgerish, so who knows.

Black Frigate smells flat out GOOD and satisfying

Chopped Cigar Leaf really smells like a cigar. I understand it to be a blender. What do y’all blend it with? I bought this to expand my cigar leaf portfolio as well as it is Pennsylvania broadleaf. PA is my home state so there’s that. I wonder where it was grown. Perhaps Amish Country.

I may follow up tomorrow with some thoughts on the others, but would like to hear your tips and judgements. A few of these smell a bit pedestrian or underwhelming to me, of course I have not smoked them yet. Encouraging words are welcome.

Thanks for using myriad properly. puffy

I see your logic as perfectly sound.

I, too have several tins opened. I have my daily rotation at about 15 tins, and the "changeup" blends which are around 50 blends. I use them for a change of pace.

@AppalachianPiper92 has offered some sage advice. Some of my "changeup" blend made it to my daily rotation simply by letting them rest for a while.

When I was young, I used a similar approach to deciding who to date. I'd ask the half dozen or so young ladies I favored to all fart while I was nearby so I could sniff their essence. After carefully evaluating the various aromas, I chose to date the one with the biggest tits. Well, actually, the one with the second biggest tits. The one with the biggest tits shat her pants when attempting to fart. I wanted no piece of that action.

BTW, IMHO, Chopped cigar leaf compliments just about any predominantly Burley blend. Sprinkle a little in your Haunted Bookshop. NICE!

Drop some in some Tabac du Manil Semois and pair it with a nice Weller Wheated Bourbon. You will swear you are drinking honey.... OMG.....
You are one of the omni ones, my friend. Thank you.
Try em now then don't smoke em again for 2 or 3 weeks. Night and day difference. I let just about any tin I open rest for at least 2 weeks before smoking it. It's proven to benefit the tobacco almost every time
Hope you enjoy them.
agree on the “breather period” ?

And the moral of the story is…I don’t know. Lol.

That one outgrapes Captain Black Grape. Even bought a pipe just for it.
Man, that’s akin to bullshitting a bullshitter.

I do not wish to buy a new pipe. Then I would need a new pipe rack as mine are full and they never hold fewer than 3 so then I’d be looking for two more pipes, all over this blend.

PS Watch PREY if you haven’t already. Since it’s a Predator movie the skulls of various organisms abound, and it takes place in the time of the First People (if I got that right I suck at PC). The protagonist is Comanche. Nobody smokes a pipe but this French fur trapper smokes cigars and overall it’s a fun flick.

Does anybody else NOT use a dedicated pipe for this blend?
