I decided to open some things that have been on my shelf - only things that I have never tried and have 2 or more of. Nothing rare but for the most part I feel like these are not “genre overlap” for the myriad jars in my collection. I thought I’d share my thoughts on a few going off of aroma alone. These are them:
The front row is the most intriguing to me, with the best on the left.
Celephais- I’ve never sniffed any blend like this. I do not get it on every whiff but most of the time there is a grape soda note. There are other familiar scents here that I can’t quite pinpoint…butter pecan perhaps.
8 ST8 Burley- This, upon popping, was the most complex burley I’ve ever smelled. Re-sniffing a few hours later it reads more codgerish, so who knows.
Black Frigate smells flat out GOOD and satisfying
Chopped Cigar Leaf really smells like a cigar. I understand it to be a blender. What do y’all blend it with? I bought this to expand my cigar leaf portfolio as well as it is Pennsylvania broadleaf. PA is my home state so there’s that. I wonder where it was grown. Perhaps Amish Country.
I may follow up tomorrow with some thoughts on the others, but would like to hear your tips and judgements. A few of these smell a bit pedestrian or underwhelming to me, of course I have not smoked them yet. Encouraging words are welcome.
