I'm looking for a snazzy new tin of pipe tobacco to add to my collection. Right now i have a bunch of cheap drugstore brands that i have narrowed down to a few that i like for the price. I only recently started buying fancier stuff. The only tins i currently have are erinmore flake, frog morton on the town and grey havens. I also have tried just for him's lotr series.
any suggestions of another blend to add to my collection?

Same here. I have only tried aromatics and would like to try a good non-aromatic. I really want to try the lotr series, heard a lot of good things on here about it.

the lotr series is very good, they have a sampler of the series available as well.

Maybe McClelland 5110? Also Stokkebye has some very good blends sold in bulk as well. They are not too pricy either.

Smokingpipes.com has some nice C&D samplers:

PipesandCigars.com has a wide variety of samplers:

Savannah Blend from Tobaccotraderusa. Also Sweet Black Cherry, Black Forest Cavendish and Sherlock's Discovery are great blends from http://www.2guyssmokeshop.com

I'd have to go with krgulick and flat4driven's recommendations because they parallel my tastes.

But kcvet67's sampler advice is the most sensible response to your plea for suggestions. IMHO.

For a good Virginia, I'd go for Rattray's Old Gowrie.
Funny, as this was listed on another forum as one of the tobacco's in the thread, " What's the worst baccy you've tried."
different strokes for different folks....

Hey spacecowboy
You can get some great insight from tobaccoreviews.com, like you say. I use that site alot to check out blends I am interested in. Most times the reviews are pretty spot on.
