Have you ever had a pipe that you would not sell? Few months ago, I bought an estate lot of pipes from a lady for 40.00. Included, were these 2 Loewe's and Co.(I had to clean them up of course) A couple days ago, I recieved e-mail from a member on a Forum offering me $145.00 for the smaller of the 2 Loewe's. I declined. A month ago, I was offered $225.00 for the pair with case included. I declined. Now as I sit here typing, I am smoking the smaller Loewe, layered with Drum and Frog Morton, realizing that declining these offers was indeed the right decision! My Gosh, it smokes so smooth.

Sorry I couldn't pass up an opportunity like that.
I have only made trades for two of my pipes in 35 years... and I still regret that decision.

With those two exceptions I still have every pipe I've ever owned... save one that was stolen.

I know how you feel. Been offered some money for my Sam Martin pipe, but I will probably never part with the thing, though I haven't smoked it in ages.

Look at this way, if there willing to pay that now for them, they'll probably even pay more later for them later and in the mean time you get to enjoy them. It seems totally reasonable to me.
