I just won an ebay auction for this Comoy's pipe: http://www.ebay.com/itm/390339476763?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Looks to be in fairly decent shape from what I can see in the picture and with the exchage rate, I only paid about $25 for it. What do you guys think? Good deal?

I've owned a few Comoys but I'm no expert. However, I thought Comoys were all made in London. The founder was named Francois Comoy and he was French, and "Biarritz" and "Saint-Claude" are two cities in France (though in two different areas of the country).
The seller doesn't seem to know much about pipes. The description reads "unmistakable long stem" but the stem looks fairly short and does not seem to have the trademark "C" on the port side. The overall length is 155mm which is slightly more than 6 inches; not horribly long.
Honestly I don't know WHAT this is. It could be a very rare pipe carved by Francois Comoy himself which he marked with the names of his two favorite French cities and it's PRICELESS. Or it could be a fake. But the good news is you only paid $25 for it.
Just curious... what made you buy this in the first place?

When I figured in the exchange rate and what it would cost me, I figured it was a good value. Like you said, even if it is a fake, I only paid $25 for it, and I liked the shape and look of it and figured it would make a fun restoration project and will hopefully be a good smoker. Worst case scenario, Im only out $25.

Comoy or not, looks like a pretty sweet pipe! I recently scored a decent Comoy for around that price, a little cotton and tequilla and she's hanging out in my rotation already!

My sentiments exactly. If it turns out to be a Comoys, thats great, Ill smoke it. If its not a Comoys, Ill clean it up and smoke it anyway. I am not a hardcore collector/pipe snob. Any pipe that is functional and looks good to me deserves a place in my rotation, and I am all about value for money.
