Arguably my favorite shape too, and also a huge Savinelli fan to boot. Enjoy it! 
It's 1 of the few author shapes I really love. I have it in the Rossi line.
A very fine looking pipe. I do not own an author shape but may pick one up some day. Problem is, I have too many pipes already.
When I envision Santa Claus smoking a pipe it’s an author shape.
People do love this shape, though admittedly it's NOT for me.
Seems this shape made by some marques such as GBD and Comoys fetch quite a bit more than other shapes in comparable lines/finishes.

The 320 and 320KS must be among Savinelli's most popular shapes. I have more Savinelli than any other brand, but for an author, finding the 320 a mite heavy, I opted for a Luciano author. Either way, the author has plenty of chamber and nice heft, for sure
I love the Sav 320KS. King Size for sure it is. I own them. I have good response with straight burley blends and straight virginia in wide pipes. I have most of my briars north of .80 width so between about .82 and .92 and they smoke those tobaccos well. Pete XL02 and the 320KS. So smoke it like its your birthday and get some cake on that briar. Enjoy your pipe!!!
A. There is no such thing as "too many" pipes.
B. Rossi (Savinelli's "starter" brand) offers an 8321 series at a reasonable price. Same pipe shape and dimensions. Good time to experiment!
