I live ten minutes away from lake lure and chimney Rock in Western NC. The town that I have been to countless times has been erased and lives lost. We are forty minutes from Ashville and the city was devastated. I have never seen this much destruction from a storm before and I've seen plenty. We are all still without power, generator for now. Probably won't be until next week until the power gets back on but the problem is there is no food or gas. Luckily I am paranoid and have food stocked up and am running off a well plus plenty of spring water creeks nearby. The Internet is better than I've ever seen it thanks to starlink helping out. We could use some help from the government but oh well, we are wild stock out here we're going to make it.

Eastern NC here. I've been burning up the prayer lines for you all. I've been through more hurricanes than I can count and I am heartbroken at the magnitude of devistation the people of Appalachia are suffering. We've been in contact with family and friends in Greenville, TN but have yet to hear from family in Asheville and Burnsville.
