I don't know if anyone in this Forum was in the path of the Tornados that hit yesterday in the Southwest. I truely hope not. But if so, my Wife and myself will be hoping for all the best for you and pray that you weren't hurt.

We had the hail, high winds and heavy rain but luckily no tornado. But there was one 15 miles from us that gutted a quick stop fuel station and that's close enough for me.
Only ever been thru one storm that scared me. Lived in a trailer park at the time and we were lucky. Just about every other trailer in the park suffered damage from falling trees except ours.
With Hurricanes, at least you get some warning that they are coming and have time to get out. With tornados, they usually hit in the dark and give little or no warning till it's too late. Most homes don't even have a place of safety from them, but many are starting to build tornado rooms or cellars/basements. I've been thinking of building one ever since we purchased our present home.

I have been through a couple. I remember when my daughter was in first grade we had one and we lived in a mobil home nearest neighbor a mile away it woke her up all i could day is nothing we can do go hide under your bed.

I have to admit not much scares me but twisters do.

We got hit today in the small town I live in in Appalachia. Tornado touched down across the street from where my youngest daughter goes to school. The kids made it through alright but it completely destroyed the carpet store and a gas station. Lots of barns down (including tobacco barns) but outside of one death it looks like most people are safe.

We have had maybe 2-3 hurricanes in 40 yrs. But now it seems as tho we get Mild Hurricains and Tropical storms 4-5 times a year. We are not used to it here and I must admit I don't care for it. The worlds weather is becoming violent. The future looks uncertain for sure.

Here in Alabama we have had our share of tornados over the past year. I keep hearing how little warning there is. I don’t understand that at all, the storms last night we knew about for at least a week. There is one coming Friday that we have known about since Monday of this week but I bet people are still surprised by it. At least here (I can’t speak for other areas) We have great weather programs. We know it’s coming, but so sad people don’t listen. This includes historically the first week of March being a dangerous time for weather. Around here it’s the official start of Tornado season, so it is beyond my comprehension how people where surprised here last night. The start of tornado season bringing tornados, who would have thought. I feel so bad for the people that have lost loved ones, wish everyone would just pay more attention.
Again that is for the people here in AL , our weather tends to be a little more predictable than some of the areas out west.
