I am trying to add some HU tins to an order at Estervals and I am getting an error message that there is a five tin minimum for HU blends? When did this happen?

There is still a glitch or is there. When I tried to order a 250 g bag of ASCANIAN nos 2 it dumped ten bags in my basket with a message saying minimum order for this blend is ten bags.Same with 100g tins minimum ten tins.50g tins were ok you could order one tin then go out and order another one etc.

I’ve experienced this “forced minimum” recently on a variety of choices at Estervals, not just HU. I just went back to review my cart, and it’s empty, but 2 of the minimum requirements that were there before are still being forced, even though one of the blends is out of stock.

My assumption was that they were applying this to the more popular blends in order to help them manage their volume of “small orders,” but that’s total speculation on my part.

Disappointed to hear that this is not expected to change in the future. I don’t feel quite as strongly as the OP in the Reddit posting (not sure if that’s you or not) regarding whether I will continue patronage at Esterval’s, mostly because my orders there are always large quantities anyway, but this does force me to order in a way that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Having a couple friends that like/want some of the same things can help, if you don’t mind splitting it up after receipt.

OP isn't me and I feel the same as you, there's still blends unaffected by this that I can order and honestly the minimum on some of the HU blends is fine because I get a bunch of that at once anyway but it sucks if you just want to get a tin to try something new.

That is definitely disappointing. I was looking forward to getting a tin of White Horse with my next order, but not having tried it before, I’m not so sure I want to spring for 5 of em…

It sounds like group orders may become more cost effective moving forward.

I am glad to read that. It was frustrating to add one tin of something and see it show up as a count of ten or twenty. Especially since they have a lot of the other HU blends I am interested in trying.
