Hey there, pipe smoker from upstate New York, just joining the forum.
I first smoked a pipe around 7-8 years ago, started with captain black original and a couple of pipes I had since I was a child. I’m just looking to expand my involvement in the hobby at the moment.
I enjoy English blends and currently a meerschaum is my go to pipe.

Welcome! How did you acquire those pipes as a child?

I was a collector of things, and was always interested in pipes!
I can remember actually buying my first cob with my grandfather off of a vintage cardboard display from a kitschy store in Cooperstown, NY! He also bought me a clay pipe in Plymouth, MA while we were there on a day trip, and an antler pipe from a Native American gift shop in Western NY.
I also added a couple of briars from a garage sale free pile, which was how my Father was making money at the time.

Hey Neighbor, how upstate is way upstate for you? I’m here in Saratoga County, and I went to school in Warren County, I’ve always said anything north of Kingston counts as Upstate!
