So yesterday ((because you totally need to know the whole back story first right? lol))I worked a 12 hour shift, since I got to take a one hour lunch I decided to bring a pipe to enjoy. I had a piece of gum after, but still had pipe breath for the rest of the day. It made me a bit self conscious when talking to customers, no one wants stale smoke breath in their face.
Anyway, I was just wondering about tips or tricks to freshen your breath after smoking a pipe. Aside from brushing your teeth or swishing mouthwash ((both of which would be relatively annoying to do at work)) Cause it was so nice to get to relax out side with my pipe on my lunch, and I would very much like to do it again next Monday...when I work my 12 again...
Thanks in advance!

In all seriousness, try the Altoids, the Biotene Gum, or a stronger gum. Also if you only smoke one bowl on your break, then you would only have to rinse with mouthwash once.

Hmm I may try the biotene gum. And the mouth wash thing, it's not so much the using of the mouthwash... it's the whole using it at work thing. I don't want to be an ass and just spit on the side walk, and using the bathroom sink seems weird. lol .... god the fact that I am actually worrying about stuff like that makes me feel like such a girl :P

Even if somebody "caught" you rinsing &/or brushing in the restroom...you could always argue that good oral hygiene is nothing to be ashamed of!

drink coffee, then you will be too busy worrying about your coffee breath to care about that taste in your mouth.

True, true Bytor, but then I still have to haul my toothbrush and or mouthwash, and toothpaste all over with me. lol. ((frankly I am lazy O.o))
^_^ Hehe Space, except that coffee makes me crazy...((caffeine sensitive))... sooo while it would probably work, I'm sure my coworkers would like to live. XP hehehe

I usually just have something to drink, something like a stronger flavored soda and a bite to eat after a pipe, and before, and sometimes during... ;) But eating and drinking a little bit afterwards will definintly help. And welcome to the world of smoking, enjoy it and don't let other people's opinion bother you too much

Geez, you are a girl! Stop being a candy ass and just gargle a tablespoon of The Source with a capful of Listorene. Once you wake up, you'll find it completely removed the tobacco taste from your mouth and your colon will be clean as a whistle (you'll probably need to change your shorts because you will have soiled yourself while unconscious but your colon will be clean as a whistle)

"Do not eat straight from the jar."

My father had a bottle of hot sauce like that once (it also claimed to be the world's hottest.) He's a big hot sauce guy...just put a whole bunch on a little tiny oyster. You'll never see a man with a terrible heart condition run around faster than he did, that day.

On topic, I carry those little mint breath freshener things that you stereotypically see dudes in movies use prior to seeing a woman. Except mine cost 99 cents for two at Fred Meyers and aren't spray bottles...but they're VERY effective! And tiny...and cheap. Really no downsides!

Cheers,

Collin

This is one of the things that killed me about smoking cigarettes (no pun intended), it was the foul breath, add on some coffee and I could smell my own breath, it was pretty bad. I'm not sure if it's the same with a pipe - but I only imagine it is similar and dependent on the frequency as well.
My biggest fear is having really foul breath - so I just try to take these precautions. Drink water, often, it helps - sometimes the lack of drinking water can give someone foul breath. My routine in the morning and before bed - mouthwash, brush with toothpaste and extra baking soda - don't forget to brush your tongue too, floss, mouthwash. Chew gum from time to time or have a mint.
I'll let you know more when I start smoking my pipes ;)

When at home, I use Listerine after brushing my teeth. At work, I have the small portable Listerine pump that fits in your pocket.

It's a good idea to rinse with the mouthwash of your choice

and floss. This may not be convenient, but it's a good habit

to develop and in time, it will not seem like such a bother.

If you really don't want to do the mouthwash thing, you could try putting a wedge of lemon in with your lunch. Once you are finished smoking your pipe, get a drink of something to get the initial taste out of your mouth and then suck on the lemon wedge. Lemon juice cleans the palate and freshens breath.
If you don't like lemon, this will be a problem.
Also if you do this, be sure to wrap up the lemon separately and securely or else it will leak into the rest of your lunch.

Hehe I like the Beer suggestions.... but I don't think my boss would approve. I may go stock up on breath mints and Listerine sprays. ^_^ and I'll give the lemon a shot too.
Thanks for the tips ^_^
