I don't pay anything because I just don't cut it. Every other year, I might get it relaxed if it gets too unruly. It hasn't reached my ass yet though and it's been several years, but I am not like, trying to grow it out to a certain point, I'd be fine if it stayed as long as it is now.

Split ends are a free haircut the way cross-threading is free Loctite. That actually might be why it doesn't seem to be getting longer anymore, maybe it's breaking off at the same rate it's growing out... 🤔

When Covid closed all the shops for a few months, I started having my wife cut my hair. She already was cutting the kids hair, so she had some practice. And, as I’ve never been one to stare in the mirror 🪞…I’ve been very satisfied with what she provides…never went back to the barber…so all it costs me is my heart & soul. 🤣☕

If I did pay my max would be 20 + 5 tip for a supercuts type establishment. Maybe double for a stylist that can make it look real cool. But now I rock the clippers. After 20 years of that I’ve noted that with Wahl, Norelco and Oyster the motor will eventually fail. I have now sprung for a BabyBlissPro. It feels hefty, looks good and is clearly professional grade. I hope to get 2x or 3x lifespan from it compared to the others. Interestingly, since I have taken up heavy smoking my hair has largely come back. Perhaps stress was making it fall out or perhaps nicotine adjusted my hormones in the correct way. But I have basically a full head of hair again. I have learned to give myself legit haircuts since this happened but I still use the clippers primarily (with a comb), and a little scissor action.IMG_1037.jpeg
