I know this is going to be a tough question to answer but how many of we pipe smokers are there in the United States do you think/guess? The world?

That's something I'm sure we'd all be interested in seeing the actual numbers of. I'm sure it's higher than we all would anticipate. I third friday's comment of not as high as it should be.

Just did a quick search... apparently in the USA, approximately 2.5 million people smoke tobacco out of pipes. I found this on the internet so you know it is absolutely true.... Thats a joke people.... I found this very quickly just by searching through google... Sounds pretty accurate to me though. Not sure how many people world wide smoke a pipe but I'm sure its much more than this number.

I'd be hesitant to say there were 25 million American pipe smokers 50-60 years ago. I'd clearly agree without seeing the numbers that the percentage of the population that enjoyed pipes was significantly higher though than it is today.
