I've been noticing the last few smokes that after I clean my pipe with a pipe cleaner, I have 'fuz' from the pipe cleaner in my bowl. And I assume there is some in the stem as well. I don't know if I'm using a cheap cleaner, or if it just happens. And if every cleaner does that, then that means I'm smoking a bit of cleaner as well as baccy. Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Is there a step to the cleaning that I'm missing after running the pipe cleaner through it?

I put the "fuzz" next to my collection of toejam and skin flakes....
Honestly, I just blow it out of the bowl and stem. There isn't a lot of mystery to it.

The Gloredos are worth the few extra pennies to be sure.

I've still a lot of the BJ Longs though, I've gotten into the habit of running the cleaners through my fingers before using them because of the fuzz you mention.

And the above recommendations to clear your pipe by blowing through it, I do this before loading a bowl every time!

I just ordered a Dr. Grabow and they sent me some Dill pipe cleaners. I have been using J.B. Long cleaners. I have only looked at the dill's but, they seem to be made better.

Maybe you need better quality pipe cleaners.

If your using all cotton pipe cleaners, you will get a certain amount of fuzz regardless of the quality of the pipe cleaners, and to answer the question at hand, just blow in the pipe and that will do the trick. :puffy:
